Robin J. Elliott is a South African-born entrepreneur specializing in joint ventures. He is a trainer, marketing consultant and author who has worked in Africa, Canada and the United States. He immigrated with his wife Rika Elliott to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada in 1997 at the age of 45.

Elliott presents his one-day Joint Venture Bootcamps in Canada, the United Kingdom, and the US. His basic approach with joint ventures is twofold (although in Joint Adventures he lists 30 separate joint venture strategies):

Secondly, he argues that every resource businesspeople need is already available to them through leverage, with which they can access money, databases, distribution, credibility or anything else required via joint ventures.
His main focus is on the beauty salon industry, since 1988, including Salon Development Director for the Redken, Wella, and Goldwell product houses.

Controversy
Elliott's past dealings haven't been without problems. In 2010 Western Liquid Funding Inc., an insolvent investment company was banned from trading by the British Columbia Securities Commission after taking $12 million from investors without filing an offering memorandum. Although not directly implicated, Elliot's company referred hundreds of thousands of dollar in return for a $262.25 plus a 0.25% trailer fee per month for as long as the money stayed invested.
